Presentation Overview

This continuing education workshop explores the clinical value of nature-based interventions for children and adolescents, paying particular attention to healing-centered and culturally responsive care for marginalized communities.

In this presentation, Dr. Martha Golubski examines how colonization and systemic racism have disrupted relationships between communities and the natural environment. She introduces strategies for integrating nature-based practices into group therapy with kids and teens, as well as how these practices support resilience, emotional regulation, and overall mental health.

By the end of the session, clinicians and students will be equipped to design and facilitate nature-based group interventions that foster belonging, cultural connection, and holistic well-being while expanding their toolkit for trauma-informed and culturally responsive care.
